Features
Custom Servers
If you have servers that are not hosted on one of the supported cloud providers (Linode, DigitalOcean, Vultr, AWS), you can still manage them in PMTAcore by adding them as custom servers.
Adding a Custom Server
- Go to SSH Manager or Cloud Manager.
- Click Add Custom Server.
- Enter the server details:
- Label – a friendly name for the server
- IP Address – the server's public IP
- SSH Port – default is 22
- Username – typically root
- Password or SSH key
- Click Save.
What You Can Do
Custom servers support all the same features as cloud-managed servers:
- Install PowerMTA
- Open SSH terminal sessions
- Use as SMTP servers for campaigns
The only difference is that you cannot create, delete, or power-manage custom servers from PMTAcore since there is no API connection. Those actions need to be done through your hosting provider's dashboard.
Use Cases
- Dedicated servers from providers like OVH, Hetzner, or other hosts
- On-premise servers in your own data center
- VPS from smaller providers that don't have API support in PMTAcore
